1955 ORIGINAL BOXED SET #D90:200 "BETSY McCALL BIGGEST PAPER DOLL"
This is JUST ONE OF MANY BOXED SETS OF PAPER DOLLS FOUND IN MY late sister's collections.
The paper doll set was made by the SAM'L GABRIEL SONS AND COMPANY IN 1955.  This set is the Betsy McCall paper Sculpture Doll.  The pieces for the doll are included but I have not put them together.  I am going to estimate the doll to be around 41 inches tall when put together.  The set instruction sheet notes that Crepe Paper Dresses can be made for the doll and the the little girl owner too.  McCall also sold a pattern #3025 in a size 6, where the little girl owner could have the same dress made for her that her doll is currently wearing.  The doll and clothing were designed by Erica and Harold Egan and has a trademark of Paper Sculpture, Inc.  I am not sure if all the crepe paper is still included that was once in the box but there are several shades of Crepe Paper that was provided to the Kit by the Dennison Company.  There is a wonderful Ribbon included that was provided by Burlington Mills.  There was also supposed to be some glistening appliques included but I did not spot them in the box any longer.  Nor is there any yarn included either.  The box does mention gold lace paper doilies included but there is only 1 silver one included.
The original box to this set does have some condition issues as 3 of the 4 corners of the lid are split.  There is also a tear on both end flaps of the lid.  The base of the box has 1 split corner.  It does appear the doll has been put together before but I believe all her pieces are still included.  She may be missing one of her blue hair ribbons.  PLEASE BE SURE TO KEEP WATCHING AS I AM UNCOVERING NEW FINDS FROM THIS COLLECTION DAILY!!
