This is a listing for a lot of 8 vintage, original ad sheets to classic Hollywood war films from the '50s. Ad sheets, a counterpart to the more traditional p
ressbook, were created by the studios to be sent out to theater exhibitors for promotional purposes, primarily to place ads in newspapers & periodicals. While pressbooks contains entire campaigns and publicity material, ad sheets contain the basic ad mats and a still (or two) for advertising in newspapers & periodicals. They were likely used for second run screenings. This lot contains a full 2-page ad sheets for Thunderbirds (Republic, 1952), Eight Iron Men (Columbia, 1952), Alan Ladd's Paratrooper (Columbia, 1953), The McConnell Story (Warner Bros., 1955), Men of the Fighting Lady (MGM, 1954), Robert Mitchum's Korean War classic One Minute to Zero (RKO, 1952), cut ad sheets to the classic Errol Flynn Objective Burma (Warner Bros., 1945) & Robert Mitchum's The Enemy Below (20th Century-Fox, 1957) and a 1-page ad sheet for Marines Lets Go (20th, 1961).
