    Here is a
    nice used pair of Brown & Sharpe model 831 firm joint outside calipers in the 12" size.
    They have a fine adjuster on them also.  According to the Browne & Sharpe catalog the 12" calipers have a actual capacity of 15".  These work great and just have a few stains on them with normal usage marks.  There are 2 engravings on them, see last 2 photos with pointer reference.
