Casanova Brown, the 1944 Sam Wood romantic screwball comedy, re-released in the mid 1950s. ("The greatest romantic comedy of all time!"; "From a play by Floyd Dell and Thomas Mitchell"; "World famous, best-seller author Fannie Hurst picks 'Casanova Brown' as 'Picture of the month' in her first review for Modern Screen magazine"; produced by Nunnally Johnson; maybe this was far funnier in 1944!; Cooper was briefly married to Wright, and they divorced, and she discovers she's pregnant, so after the baby is born, she plans to put it up for adoption, but Cooper kidnaps the baby instead, planning to be a single father; obviously, this movie would never be remade, especially not as a comedy!) starring Gary Cooper, Teresa Wright, Frank Morgan, Anita Louise, Patricia Collinge, Edmond Breon, and Jill Esmond. Note that this movie reunited the lead stars from "Pride of the Yankees" (where Gary Cooper played Lou Gehrig and Teresa Wright played his wife)! Also note that this movie was based on a play called "Little Accident", which had previously been filmed three different times in the 1930s, and that play was written by famous character actor Thomas Mitchell, apparently his only writing credit of any note!
